For more information, visit http://www.prudential.com. The Treasurer's Department of Prudential Financial (Prudential) has an opening in its Corporate Finance group (CFG). CFG is primarily responsible for the development of financial policy for the Company, including policies governing capital management, liquidity and borrowing for Prudential Financial, Inc. and its subsidiaries. CFG plays a major role in the development and implementation of legal entity and Company-wide capital and financing plans. These plans are developed in partnership with the business groups and the other financial management disciplines, and are tailored in such a way as to allow the businesses units to achieve their objectives in the context of the company's overall risk, regulatory and ratings objectives.

CFG is also responsible for Business Unit Treasury. Each Business Unit Treasurer within CFG is responsible for delivering all Treasury services to the respective business units by leading a cross functional team comprised of professionals from the Corporate Finance, Capital Markets and Corporate Banking groups within Treasurer's.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The individual will be part of the Business Unit Treasury team for the Individual Life, Closed Block, Group Insurance and Corporate & Other businesses. The responsibilities of the individual will include the following functions:
  • Direct supervision and oversight for the company's Long Term Planning Model. This is a complex model that is utilized to produce the company's Capital & Financing Plan, Holding Company Cash Flows, key Balance Sheet metrics and performance ratios. The output from the model serves as the basis for the company's Capital Plans, Corporate Finance strategies. The Long Term Planning Model also serves a tool utilized by Senior Management to make key capital management decisions.
  • Support Business Unit treasury for Corporate & Other, including strategic planning and analysis, Balance Sheet management and all aspects of borrowing, liquidity and capital management.
  • Analysis, monitoring and enhancement of the capital attribution/required equity process and capital management for Corporate & Other.
  • Strategic management and analysis of Prudential Financial's Capital Management Accounts, including cash flow projections and investment planning.
  • Development of related presentations for senior management, rating agencies and the Finance Committee/Board of Directors.

Additional responsibilities of the position will vary, and will depend largely on the candidate's background, skills and experience. The candidate will have the opportunity to interact with many business groups and functional areas of Prudential, and with individuals at all levels, including senior financial management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
At least 7 years work experience in finance, accounting or treasury field preferred, including some management experience
  • MBA or CFA preferred
  • Strong financial analysis and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with statutory accounting principals desirable
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment
  • Team player, but ability to be productive independently
  • Solid interpersonal and communications skills and ability to interact with all levels of senior management
