Position Summary:
Accountable for the overall performance,
administrative activities, and service standards for the Prudential Bank
& Trust Operations department. Sets the direction for the unit and
leads team to execute business and production priorities. Establishes
and maintains the Bank's operating policies and procedures. Leads key
bank strategic growth initiatives and coordinates activities with other
internal managers and business partners to achieve results. Establishes
and monitors daily operations to achieve internal control and quality
standards while ensuring unit compliance with all bank regulatory and
compliance rules. Allocates and coordinates resources and handles
personnel related issues within parameters of firm and segment policy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership of the Bank Operations team to support the
aggressive growth strategies of the business. Serve as role model for
the team to drive organizational culture change in support of segment
strategy.
- Develop and retain a proactive and empowered Bank Operations team;
manage team production performance so that individual and organizational
results are achieved. Provide development and training opportunities for
staff. Communicate regularly with team through one-on-ones, staff
meetings, and ongoing human resource performance processes.
- Establish and maintain production and project performance metrics to
evaluate quality and efficiency of staff. Consistently work with Team
Leader to use existing and developing metrics reporting to monitor team
performance against stated objectives. Use innovative practices to
reward and motivate team.
- Drive operational processes and efficiencies while ensuring regulatory
compliance and client satisfaction. Working closely with the Team Leader
and staff, streamline workflows and identify process improvement
initiatives that will improve efficiency, grow bank assets, or further
strengthen the bank control structure.
- Working with the Bank Senior Leadership team, assist in the development
of the lending capabilities for the Bank. Build out the operational and
technical infrastructure needed to support this strategic growth
initiative.
- Ensure that all Bank operational policies and procedures are updated on
a regular basis and are consistently trained to the Bank staff.
- Oversee the Bank's Quality Review, Business Continuity, and Anti-Money
Laundering Programs; perform periodic reviews ensuring that the programs
are achieving objectives and that quality standards are being achieved.
Identify improvement areas and coach team members to exceed results.
- Manage all aspects of the Bank internal audits, risk assessments and
external regulatory exams to ensure that satisfactory results are
achieved.
- Serve as the primary contact with key vendors; oversee due diligence
processes to ensure risk controls are in place.
- Manage department budgets, staffing, and action plans in support of
segment and divisional strategies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- BA or BS degree; MBA is a plus
- 10+ years of banking or financial services experience with a focus on
operations, customer service, process improvement, and lending
disciplines
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to drive a team to
execute on production objectives
- Extensive knowledge of retirement plans and the IRA rollover market
- Strategic leadership of project and process teams with the ability to
successfully partner across organizational lines
- Strong role model with demonstrated experience in successfully leading
teams through change using positive leadership techniques
- Excellent communication skills (written, oral, and formal presentation)
- Superior matrix management and partnering skills
- Strong knowledge of banking and insurance compliance and regulatory
practice.
